How To Run Your Race To Win

6 Key Areas That Determine Your Success in 2026

As we step deeper into 2026, it’s easy to feel like life is moving fast—and the pressure to “keep up” is real. But what if God isn’t calling you to keep up… what if He’s calling you to run your race?

In Pastor Keith Craft’s message “How to Run Your Race to Win,” he reminds us that every person is running—but not everyone is winning. And winning isn’t about being the fastest, the strongest, or the most talented. Winning comes from running with purpose, discipline, and alignment with God

At Elevate Life Church in Frisco, TX, we believe God has a race for every person—and in 2026, we’re not running to survive. We’re running to win.

Run to Win: God’s Goal Isn’t Just Progress—It’s Victory

Pastor Keith anchored this message in 1 Corinthians 9:24:

“Don’t you know that all who run in a race run, but only one receives the prize? So run to win.”

That verse doesn’t say, “Run if you feel like it.”
It doesn’t say, “Run to participate.”
It says: Run to win.

And here’s the key: your race is more than your Sunday church attendance. Your race includes the areas of life that shape your future, your family, and your legacy.

The 6 Races You’re Running (Whether You Realize It or Not)

Pastor Keith taught that your “race” isn’t just one thing—it’s made up of six key life areas, and winning in 2026 means focusing on all of them with intention.

1) Personal Growth & Leadership Development

This is the most important race you will ever run.

Pastor Keith emphasized that if you grow better, everything around you gets better—but if you don’t grow, nothing changes. That’s why Elevate Life is passionate about helping people elevate their thinking and elevate their life.

If you want to win:

  • Grow in your thinking
  • Grow in your character
  • Grow in leadership
  • Get around the right people and environments

2) Marriage

Marriage is not a finish line—it’s a race.

Pastor Keith shared a powerful truth: marriage is “two funerals and one resurrection,” meaning both people have to die to selfishness if the relationship is going to thrive. Marriage isn’t 50/50—it’s 100/100.

If you want to win in marriage, you can’t drift. You have to run with:

  • Honor
  • Communication
  • Sacrifice
  • Commitment

3) Family

Family is part of your race because legacy doesn’t happen accidentally.

God didn’t just bless us to be fruitful—He blessed us to multiply, reproduce, and build something that outlasts us. Your family is one of the greatest places you’ll ever run your race.

4) Calling / Career

Your work matters to God.

Pastor Keith reminded us that what you do isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. When you run your career “as unto the Lord,” you create impact, purpose, and influence that goes beyond a paycheck.

5) Finances

For many people, this is where the wheels come off.

Pastor Keith didn’t shy away from truth: if you don’t do finances God’s way, you’re doing finances the wrong way—and that misalignment blocks blessing. He emphasized God’s priorities:

  1. Honor God first (tithe: first 10th)
  2. Be a good steward
  3. Live generously

This isn’t about pressure—it’s about positioning. When you honor God with your finances, you invite His hand into your provision.

6) Health (Spiritual, Emotional, Physical)

One of the most impactful lines in the message was:

“The greatest gift you can give anybody is a healthy you.”

Your health affects every other race. When you’re unhealthy, you don’t just suffer—you unintentionally spread the effects into the people you love.

Your Race Is Your Race

A huge emphasis in this message was personal responsibility:

You can’t run your spouse’s race.
You can’t run your kids’ race.
You can’t run your pastor’s race.

But you can choose to run yours well—and inspire others by your example.

The Secret Weapon: Pre-Decide to Be Glad

Pastor Keith closed with a practical and spiritual key:
pre-decide.

Pre-decide your joy.
Pre-decide your obedience.
Pre-decide your gratitude.

Philippians and Thessalonians remind us to do life without grumbling and to give thanks in everything. Joy isn’t a personality trait—it’s a decision.
