What Is the Spirit Filled Advantage?
Jesus told His disciples that after He returned to the Father, God would send the Holy Spirit to be their Helper, Counselor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Guide.
The Holy Spirit wasn’t sent to make church services more emotional.
He was sent to help believers live empowered lives every day.
The Holy Spirit helps us:
- Make wise decisions
- Overcome challenges
- Experience peace during pressure
- Receive strength during weakness
- Walk confidently in God’s purpose
- Discern God’s direction for our lives
Simply put, the Holy Spirit gives believers an advantage that cannot be produced through human effort alone.
Why So Many Christians Feel Stuck
One of the most practical insights from the message is that many Christians know Jesus as Savior but never fully experience the daily leadership of the Holy Spirit.
As a result, life can begin to feel:
- Dry
- Repetitive
- Exhausting
- Directionless
Instead of asking God for wisdom, we rely on our own reasoning.
Instead of seeking spiritual guidance, we react emotionally.
Instead of being empowered by God’s Spirit, we attempt to solve everything in our own strength.
But Jesus promised something better.
He promised a Helper.
The Holy Spirit Is Your Helper
Pastor Keith emphasized one of the most encouraging truths in Scripture:
You are not supposed to do life alone.
The Holy Spirit is constantly available to help you.
When you don’t know what decision to make, He provides wisdom.
When you’re discouraged, He strengthens you.
When you’re confused, He guides you.
When you’re hurting, He comforts you.
The Holy Spirit doesn’t simply observe your struggles—He actively helps you overcome them.
The Difference Between Natural Strength and Supernatural Power
One of the key Scriptures in the message was Acts 1:8:
“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.”
The Greek word for power is dunamis—the same root word from which we get the word “dynamite.”
This isn’t ordinary strength.
It’s supernatural strength.
It’s God’s ability working through your life.
That means:
- You can overcome what once defeated you.
- You can keep going when others quit.
- You can experience peace when circumstances say you shouldn’t.
- You can become the person God created you to be.
Stop Replaying the Past
Another powerful moment in the message addressed something many people struggle with: getting stuck in painful experiences.
Pastor Keith explained that many believers continuously replay past wounds, disappointments, and failures instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to help them process and heal.
Romans 8:28 reminds us:
“All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”
That doesn’t mean every experience is good.
It means God can bring good out of every experience.
The Holy Spirit empowers us to move forward instead of staying trapped in yesterday’s pain.
The Holy Spirit Gives You Wisdom
Many of life’s biggest mistakes happen when we make decisions without God’s guidance.
The Holy Spirit helps us:
- Discern opportunities
- Recognize dangers
- Understand timing
- Navigate relationships
- Build healthy families
- Lead effectively
Instead of asking, “What do I think I should do?”
We can begin asking:
“Holy Spirit, what are You leading me to do?”
Filled to Build
One of the most unique insights from the message came from the story of Bezalel in Exodus 31.
The first person specifically described as being filled with the Spirit of God was not a preacher.
He was a builder.
God filled him with wisdom, creativity, skill, and understanding to build God’s house.
That truth still applies today.
The Holy Spirit empowers people to build:
- Marriages
- Families
- Businesses
- Ministries
- Communities
- Careers
- Legacies
The Holy Spirit doesn’t remove your humanity.
He empowers your God-given potential.
More Than Salvation
Salvation is the beginning of the journey—not the finish line.
Jesus saves us so we can be filled, empowered, transformed, and sent into the world as His representatives.
The goal isn’t simply getting to heaven one day.
The goal is experiencing heaven’s power at work in your life today.
